Monitor your website using Firefox and Selenium

Apica Watch™ is a new service from Apica that lets you monitor your web site from a true end-user perspective using Firefox.

Now you can easily measure and analyze the details of your web page, including components like stylesheet, images, videos and third-party calls like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Simple setup

The setup for a single web page is just point-and-click, with no extra programming needed. Simply enter the URL and location to get started. The result is presented as total load time in periodic graphs, and as SLA compliance versus response time thresholds and functional results.
Key Benefits

Drill down and find bottlenecks

For analysis purposes, you can drill down on each run and see the waterfall graphs on how the page was rendered on individual object. Easily view the last 10 runs on each object and a summary per domain to identify bottlenecks.

Analyzing advanced user scenarios

Use Selenium’s popular functional test to monitor more advanced user tasks, like making a purchase, searching for a flight, Logging in on to a webpage etc. Just record the script with the Selenium Firefox recorder and upload.

Reuse your existing Selenium scripts

The Selenium scripts are uploaded in Apica WebPerformance™ and are directly accessible for easy administration. You can even upload existing Selenium scripts and have them run by Apica Watch™ as continuous checks.

Screen capture tells you what’s wrong

A typical problem with monitoring is that the error messages can be very cryptic. Apica Watch™ automatically captures screenshots on every state change, like error messages or return to normal. The screenshots are stored together so you will be able to see with your own eyes what went wrong and when.

Advanced options

Apica Watch™ can be used on all of Apica’s public agents all around the world, and can also be used for inside Firewall monitoring on Apica custom internal agents.

As an advanced option, you can exclude specific domains from measurement. Typical examples are ad and web tracker calls that are not loaded above the fold.
