Apica’s Load Testing and Performance Monitoring Solutions Now Available on AWS Marketplace

Published: 2012-06-05
PALO ALTO, Calif.—June 4, 2012—Apica, a leading load testing and performance monitoring provider for cloud and mobile applications, announced that its web and application performance monitoring tools, Apica LoadTest™, Apica WebOverload™, and Apica Watch™ are now available on the recently unveiled Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace.

“Amazon’s marketplace is a one-stop shop for deploying to the cloud, helping users get up and running in minutes,” says Sven Hammar, CEO of Apica. “We’re thrilled to have our solutions available on AWS Marketplace. Our testing and monitoring solutions will give customers an unprecedented look into the execution of their web applications. With the added convenience of the AWS Marketplace, customers can now access tools to diagnose their web apps and ensure optimal performance throughout the entire web experience.”

The AWS Marketplace is a an online store that helps customers find, buy, and immediately start using the software and services that run in the AWS Cloud.  On AWS Marketplace, customers can browse and select software they need to build products and run their business.

Apica LoadTest controls the web load and records the effects on web applications and page load times, so that users are able to analyze and learn from the experience of bringing a website down. With Apica LoadTest, developers can see how many users their site can handle without malfunction, and if their web platform is aligned with business objectives. The solution mimics customers’ operational condition, and test agents are deployed in the cloud.

Apica WebPerformance Monitor, with the Apica Watch module, uses the open-source Selenium recorder for Firefox to record the true user experience on a website and play it back to measure website performance metrics, including response time and availability. By automatically capturing screenshots during every step of the transaction, error messages are easier to troubleshoot. With Apica WebPerformance Monitor, users can easily measure and analyze all the components of a website, including images, videos, and third-party content such as Facebook and Twitter integration.

Apica WebOverload allows users to handle unexpected increases in peak loads by automatically scaling and triggering landing pages so user sessions aren’t lost and servers remain intact.
The combination of Apica’s high-performance load testing and performance optimization tools with the convenience of the AWS Marketplace allows users to implement monitoring solutions to their websites and applications, minimizing time for error and helping to avoid downtime.
