Apica is majority-owned by its founders, key staff and three of Sweden's most well-known venture capital companies.

Apica was founded in 2005 by key staff, all with extensive knowledge and experience in IT and internet security, load testing/web performance and entrepreneurship.


Since 2007, Apica has brought in three leading and prestigious Nordic venture capital companies as investors, in order to fund the expansion of the company:
 
 
 
KTH Chalmers
is a venture capital fund that assists exceptional entrepreneurs with interesting technologies and attractive business models who are in the early phases of their company development. The fund has 30 MEUR under management. KTH Chalmers Capital currently has 10 portfolio companies. Investors are SEB Företagsinvest, Industrifonden and the Wallenberg family’s W Capital Management. Owners of the management company are the three partners, Jakob Svärdström, Jonas Rahmn and Joachim Karlsson, but also KTH, Chalmers and Innovationsbron have an ownership interest in the management company. KTH Chalmers Capital invested in Apica in 2007. 
 
 
 
 
ALMI Invest is a venture capital company which invests in Swedish companies with exciting, scalable business models and motivated entrepreneurs. ALMI Invest consists of seven regionally-based venture capital funds, all with local offices and experienced local investment managers. ALMI Invest manages a total of SEK 1 billion. Mikael Karlsson is the Investment Manager at ALMI Invest. ALMI Invest invested in Apica in 2010.

 
 
 
 

Industrifonden invests in small and medium-sized businesses with international growth potential. The fund has assets of over SEK 3 billion, of which 1.5 billion is invested in technology, cleantech, life science and industry. Industrifonden is an independent ever-green fund founded by the Swedish government in 1979. It operates on a commercial basis and recieves no government funding. Revenues are returned to the business for new investments. 
Johan Englund is the Investment Manager at Industrifonden. Industrifonden invested in Apica in 2011.
